Senior Pilates Clinician
Simone is now offering Clinical Pilates at Form. Private and small group sessions are available, which can all be claimed through private health.
Simone came to Pilates through a career in dance. After dancing in the South Australian Children's Ballet Company she received a scholarship to train in ballet and contemporary at Queensland University of Technology, then went on to complete postgraduate studies in choreography at the Victorian College of the Arts. Simone danced professionally until the age of 28 working in London, France, Montreal, Taiwan and Australia. She has worked with Rosalind Crisp (Omeo), Caroline Salem (Clarence Mews), Prue Lang (PAF), Natalie Weir, Anton, Brian Lucas, Andrew Morrish, Tim Mager (Revolt Productions), Ryan Hodge (Revolt Productions), Helen Herbertson and Don Asker.
She began teaching Pilates in 2007, completing Stott Advanced Certification and going on to work at the STOTT PILATES® Licensed Training Centre in the province of Quebec, Studio Praxis, Montreal. Upon returning to Australia she completed a Diploma in Clinical Pilates, Cert IV Allied Health Assisting (Clinical Pilates) and Cert IV in Fitness, and began working alongside osteopaths and physiotherapists throughout Melbourne and Adelaide.
Simone now calls Adelaide home. She launched the business Green Wellbeing in 2012, delivering interactive wellbeing and arts programs to offices and schools throughout Adelaide. We feel very spoilt that Simone has decided to park her new venture, a fully equipped clinical Pilates studio, at Form Physiotherapy.
With particular interest in antenatal exercise, musculoskeletal injuries and chronic pain, Simone’s aim is for clients to value moving and to feel unencumbered by perceived physical limitations - an ethos that absolutely aligns with that of our practice. Simone works to safely challenge people, provide education about their body and movement, and to trigger a progressive and active lifestyle.
You can also catch her teaching dance at the wonderful Stomping Ground Studios.
