Katie O’Brien

Exercise Physiologist

Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology
University of South Australia

After a happy career in the military as a linguist/ analyst where I was regularly exposed to benefits of physical activity, I decided on a change of direction. I was motivated to find a career which would see me helping others. Finding a career as an Exercise Physiologist has been the right fit!

Throughout my studies I was particularly taken by current approaches to pain management, which led me to the team at Form Physiotherapy. I am motivated to have a meaningful impact through both pain education and physical activity to empower others to have more freedom and joy in everyday life.

I also enjoy working with people with both physical and intellectual disabilities and using movement to benefit their health and quality of life.

As an ordinary person who enjoys the feeling of being active, I like to help others gain confidence in movement and learn to challenge themselves physically. I enjoy trying new ways of being active; the goal for this year is ice skating! I also love to travel, have an interest in languages and enjoy meeting people from all walks of life.
